Open Your Lies
We drew a deep breath together, as her wings shaded me from darkness
Trapped inside our nothing, high inside this blood red tower.
Held tight against her chest, She looked at me calmly and spoke in the sweetest of speech of desire.
Showered inside happiness, the light faded at the twilight hour.
.
‘Honestly’ she purred ‘I don’t know what I’m doing here. But please beware of the devil…’
.
For i did not know it was the devil inside her
Fixated by her lullaby, she carried on as she held me tighter
.
‘He just plays to a different tune’
.
I didn’t wish to question the question for the answer.
I began to hum, and dance to my guilty rhythm
Not questioning her words, hushed by her speechless beauty she motioned me into position.
.
She pointed up to the sky
Cutting though the night I saw a flying man, shooting at the moon
A poison touch on the lips and told me it would be over soon.
.
So i palmed my shaking hand
Under my breath asked it so stop
But my whispered words fell broken and clotted
Gooey and fluttered
My hart no longer stuttered.
.
I collapsed, wished she would catch me as i fell a motionless core
and my hart dropped.
I tried to speak to her but now my stone words were solidified and sore
Tightening my throat as mind shouts for more.
